American Law Reports and Restatements of the Law

Westlaw:

American Law Reports - Known as ALRs, this resource provides useful annotations with background to, and analysis of cases, statutes, and law review articles. The ALRs are published in series, from the first through the sixth, Federal, and Federal Second.

Restatements and Principles of the Law - Restatements are prepared by the American Law Institute (ALI), and they distil or restate the common law, in many areas such as Contracts, Torts, and Trusts. Although they are not primary law, many courts consider them to be persuasive authority.

Many of the Restatement titles in the library's collection can be accessed by conducting a title search in the catalog, using the terms "Restatement of the Law"
